Most angler fish that live the the bottom of the sea have soft, thin bones, jelly like flesh, and are either inky black or gray in color.  
 
   
   
You can tell a Viper fish by its large mouth, long fang-like teeth and long first dorsal fin ray (up to half the body length). It is an iridescent dark silver-blue colour in life with pale fins.  
 
   
     

Hatchet Fish are small creatures that live at the seas depths. They have parts of there body that are very useful for survival in the ocean. They are one of the only fish that can jump in the water. Their eyes and mouth are located on the upper surface on their body.

 
     
The Scaly Dragon fish has a long, thin body covered with hexagonal scale-like skin. There are two rows of photophores on the lower sides.
